Annapolis Wing Crawl: A Celebration of the Best Wings in Annapolis
The eternal signs of spring…flowers blooming, Ospreys returning to their summer homes, Jim Nance’s smooth, calm play by play of the Masters, O’s baseball…..but nothing makes me think of spring more than the Annapolis WingCrawl!
For 21 years we have gathered to usher out winter and celebrate the return of springtime in Annapolis.
21 years ago You Tube was launched, Hurricane Katrina devastated parts of the US, the Patriots beat the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX, “The Office” debuted on TV and several enterprising, young men had the vision of what would eventually become the greatest day of the year!
How about bringing back an icon of the WingCrawl to kick off this year's festivities……
ACME-yes, a multi year winner and staple of Main Street will get us all riled up and ready to go. Great place to gather and watch some sports, eat some delicious wings, drink some cold pops and get the day going. You Might As Well get to Acme on time (so don’t carpool with Agee) as we have some limited edition giveaways that you will not want to miss. One More Saturday Night gets going here!
McGarvey’s-stop #2 on the Crawl but #1 in our hearts. Another multi year winner of AWC and typically the high water mark in attendance. One of my favorite watering holes in Annapolis and always a great time. Kevin Havens and friends invite us all up to the 2nd floor to feast on their wings. Are these the best wings in Annapolis? Get your voting slips out and let and let us know.
Armadillos--still think of Dillos as the new kid on the block . Give us that 2nd floor to ourselves and have at it—wings, beers, music, dancing—this is what the WingCrawl is all about—typically where Berman takes it to another level—don’t try to keep up—it ain’t happening!
Market House-ALO convinced us to bring in this local’s favorite to the mix a few years ago and, like Lopes, it takes awhile to get used to but now it’s settled in nicely as the closing stop. Nice space to feast on some more amazing wings, have some more drinks you will regret tomorrow and close down the 21st WingCrawl in style!
Logistics—be at ACME at 3, pay the $40 entrance fee, get eating, drinking and carousing!
